Minnetonka Council Approves Storm Water Easement Vacation Amid Resident Concerns

The Minnetonka City Council held a public hearing and approved a resolution vacating an existing storm water easement at 1934 Oakland Road and 2000 Indian Road West. The vacation follows a redesign by Lake West Development after a previous plat amendment. The new easement location was presented, and staff confirmed it meets stormwater requirements and would not have a net impact on trees. A resident expressed concerns about ongoing water issues on Indian Road, potential impacts from construction runoff, extended construction timelines, and tree removal, particularly of Austrian pines. Staff stated they would investigate the water management concerns and check on the resident's satisfaction regarding construction follow-up. The council also discussed construction timelines, with staff confirming compliance with the 180-day rule.
