Minnetonka Council Approves Consent Agenda Items Including Election Support and Transit Contract
The Minnetonka City Council approved the consent agenda, which included three items: 10A, an agreement related to the Homes Within Reach program; 10B, a resolution appointing election judges and an absentee ballot board for the August 11th, 2026 state primary election; and 10C, a MetronTransit contract extension. Council Member Wilburn moved for acceptance, and Council Member Calvert seconded. The motion carried unanimously.

City Manager Funk reported that Minnetonka received the GreenStep recognition for the seventh consecutive year at the highest level of the green cities program managed by the League of Minnesota Cities. The city reported over 100 communitywide sustainability metrics for 2025. He also mentioned ongoing playground equipment upgrades in parks, with replacements underway at Sunrise Ridge and Wilson Park, featuring updated, ADA-accessible elements. Additionally, Summerfest was noted as a success, with over 4,000 attendees and the Rec department raising over $1,000 for the youth scholarship fund. Finally, staff are preparing for the design of Opus Station Park through community outreach and tree inspectors are undergoing training for hazardous and sightline assessments due to concerns like oak wilt and Dutch elm disease.
