City Council Approves Rezoning and Land Use Plan Amendment for Hyde Drive Property

The zoning was changed from C2 to RC, and the future land use designation was modified from suburban neighborhood to urban neighborhood. Council members discussed the frequency of land use plan changes, with staff explaining that changes typically occur for small parcels on the border of land use designations and are often a result of existing zoning not aligning with the desired land use.
City Approves HUD Action Plan Submission and Neighborhood Grant Awards
The City Council approved the submission of the fiscal year 2026-2027 action plan to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Home Investment Partnership Program (HOME) funds. The council also approved the fiscal year 2026-2027 neighborhood matching grant awards, recommending 12 out of 16 submitted projects for funding.
NJR Group Awarded $5.59 Million Contract for Annual Street Preservation
